During these uncertain times, I want to reiterate that we are closely monitoring the situation and complying with instructions from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
I sincerely appreciate the outpouring of support that has been offered with being required to cease our classes held at Selwyn House School. The online learning is not intended as a long term solution but we are relieved to enable our dancers to continue learning for the remainder of the term.
I will be reviewing how we will proceed into term two if this shut down lasts into May.
Our classes in The Arts Centre are continuing as normal, although, we are now cleaning and sanitising daily instead of weekly. Most other tenants in the Arts Centre aim to remain open too – we want to be a place where people can escape from the additional stress they are under, even just for a short while.
Christchurch kids have been through a lot, they are used to disruptions and changes. My current philosophy is “As normal as possible, as flexible as necessary” (thanks to the New Zealand Institute of Wellbeing and Resilience for the quote)
Ngā mihi maioha,
Natalie
