
Natalie Simôn, Principal
Natalie has been involved in dance since she was a preschooler, starting with her first ballet class when she was 3 years old and worked up to an advanced level in both ballet and jazz. In 2008 she passed her Advanced Diplomas in ballet in jazz with NZAMD and passed her Advanced One ballet exam with the RAD.
Her end goal was to be a dance teacher and she went on to achieve the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the RAD. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and an Affiliate teacher with the Australian Teachers of Dancing. In 2012, she proudly opened Canterbury Academy of Dance and is delighted to see the school continue to flourish year after year.
Natalie is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and enjoys putting her new knowledge to practice with her students.

Julia Litherland – Modern Tutor, Competition Coaching
Julia had been dancing since the age of 2 and has achieved many accomplishments in her years as a dancer. She has passed her NZAMD exams with distinction and a diploma in jazz, contemporary and hip-hop.
She recieved her tertiary training in Sydney at Ettinghausens Pro where she was mentored by renowned international choreographers giving her an eye into the industry. Julia prides herself of teaching with passion and helping students be the best dancer they can by creating a safe space perfect for growth and discovering love of movement.
